Content Policy

1. Prohibited Products

The following categories of products may not be listed, sold, or offered on Pradeshik under any circumstances:

1.1 Weapons & Dangerous Items

• Firearms, pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, or any part thereof (barrels, stocks, receivers)
• Ammunition, cartridges, bullets, or propellants
• Silencers, suppressors, or illegal weapon modifications
• Explosive devices, grenades, IEDs, or materials primarily used to make explosives
• Knives or bladed weapons sold or marketed for use against people

1.2 Controlled Substances & Drugs

• Narcotics or psychotropic substances prohibited under the NDPS Act, 1985 (cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, opium, marijuana, cannabis, MDMA, LSD, fentanyl, morphine, etc.)
• Prescription medicines sold without a valid prescription or FSSAI/CDSCO authorisation
• Drug paraphernalia marketed for drug use (pipes, needles, rolling papers sold with drug references)

1.3 Adult & Sexual Content

• Products described or marketed using sexual, pornographic, or explicit language
• Items whose primary purpose is pornographic or explicitly sexual
• Services offering escort, prostitution, or sexual entertainment

1.4 Counterfeit, Stolen & Fraudulent Goods

• Counterfeit or replica goods misrepresented as genuine branded products
• Products known or suspected to be stolen
• Goods smuggled into India in violation of customs laws
• Goods that infringe a third party's trademark, patent, or copyright

1.5 Hazardous & Regulated Items

• Chemicals or materials classified as hazardous without appropriate regulatory clearance
• Products without required FSSAI, BIS, or other mandatory Indian regulatory approvals
• Live animals or products derived from endangered species (CITES violations)
• Human organs, blood, or biological material

1.6 Other Prohibited Items

• Gambling equipment or lottery tickets
• Surveillance or tracking devices marketed for covert use
• Hacking tools, malware, or services intended to compromise systems
• Any product whose sale is otherwise prohibited under Indian law

All images uploaded to Pradeshik — whether product photos, shop banners, or profile pictures — must comply with the following rules:

3. Prohibited Text — Listings, Descriptions & Messages

Product names, descriptions, announcements, and chat messages must not contain:

• Profanity or abusive language in any Indian or international language
• References to prohibited products (narcotics, firearms, adult content)
• Threats, harassment, or targeted abuse directed at any individual or group
• Discriminatory language based on religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, or ethnicity
• Misinformation about health, safety, or product efficacy
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, or chain messages

All listing text is scanned automatically at submission time. Content matching our blocklist is flagged for review and may be rejected or removed.

4. Chat & User-Generated Content

Pradeshik provides a direct messaging feature between shoppers and vendors. All chat messages are subject to this Content Policy. Additional rules for chat:

• Do not send unsolicited commercial messages or spam to other users
• Do not use chat to arrange the sale of prohibited items
• Do not share explicit images, links to adult content, or malicious URLs
• Do not use chat to harass, threaten, or impersonate another person

5. How We Enforce This Policy

5.1 Automated Detection

Every piece of content submitted goes through multiple automated checks before it appears on the platform:

Any user or vendor can report a product, announcement, or vendor profile that violates this policy. Reports can be submitted via the Report option in the app. Reports reaching a threshold of 3 or more are automatically escalated for priority review.

5.3 Human Review

Our moderation team reviews all flagged content. Reviewers may take the following actions:

6. Consequences of Violations

• First violation — Content removed, warning issued
• Second violation — Content removed, 7-day account suspension
• Third violation — Permanent account suspension, ineligibility to re-register
• Any listing of weapons, narcotics, CSAM, or credible violence threats — Immediate permanent suspension and referral to authorities, regardless of prior history

Suspended vendors forfeit any remaining subscription period without refund, as per our Terms & Conditions.

7. Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended in error, you may appeal within 14 days of the action by emailing:

Include a description of the content, why you believe it does not violate this policy, and any supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed by a team member who was not involved in the original decision.

8. Reporting Prohibited Content

To report a product, vendor, or message that violates this policy:

• In the app: Use the Report button on any product listing or the ⋮ menu in a chat conversation
• By email: Send details to admin@pradeshik.in with the subject line Content Report

We do not share reporter identities with the reported party. All reports are treated confidentially. False or malicious reports may result in action against the reporting account.

9. Child Safety

• Any content that sexualises minors (CSAM) is immediately removed and reported to the Cyber Crime Cell and NCMEC
• The app is rated for users aged 18 and above
• We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 18

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice and by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of Pradeshik after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
